Ligurian pesto of D.O.P. Genoa basil – Luxury
Our pesto respects the traditional ligurian recipe.
The most important ingredients are: DOP Genoa basil (only leaves, not stems), extra virgin olive oil, pine nuts, Parmesan and pecorino cheese, garlic.
Thanks to a special processing, it is a long-life product but not pasteurized to maintain for a long time the typical brilliant green of the fresh pesto sauce home-made.
This delicious recipe, dates back to 1800 in the ligurian cuisine, is italian gastronomic heritage. Firstly used to flavour minestrone soup , during first years of ‘900 become condiment for pasta dishes.
